MACBETH @ ICCMR16 in Donostia-San Sebastián (Spain)

The 16th International Conference on Catalysis in Membrane Reactors (ICCMR16) was held October 16-18, 2023 in Donostia-San Sebastián (Spain). The conference was organized and hosted by the TECNALIA. TECNALIA is member of the Basque Research and Technology Alliance (Spain). This event included two presentations on the MACBETH project.
The first presentation, titled “On the development and testing of metallic supported Pd-Ag membranes for ammonia cracking and methane steam reforming”, is a short summary of Serena Agnolin‘s PhD thesis. In this work, she characterized a preparation procedure to obtain highly selective Pd-Ag membranes on rough metallic filters for hydrogen production via nh3 decomposition and methane steam reforming in membrane reactors.
The presentation was awarded “best presentation” by a jury at ICCMR16 both for content and way of presenting.
The topic of the second presentation by Wout Ververs was: “External mass transfer modelling for Pd-based membranes”. This work was performed to better understand and predict the important concentration polarization phenomenon occurring during H2 separation using Pd-based membranes.
