MACBETH @ CatPrep2024: 4th Summer School on Catalysts Preparation

  • 17/06/2024

From 09-15 June 2024 MACBETH had the opportunity to present itself at the CatPrep2024 – the 4th Summer School on Catalysts Preparation. Two colleagues from Tüpraş, the R&D Technical Lead/Materials Dr. Cem Açıksarı and a PhD student Irmak Su Ökten, travelled to Vogeu (France) to present a poster about their work within MACBETH.

The topic of the poster was the results of the PDH line in relation to the design of the catalyst support and the comparison of the performance of two promising catalysts developed by UNISA and Tüpraş as part of the MACBETH project (details are also included in the abstract: CatPrep2024_Aciksari (1)). The Tüpras team also followed the latest developments in the field of catalyst preparation from professionals and professors who are experts in this scientific and technological field.

The CatPrep summer school, open to the European scientific community, aims to provide a comprehensive framework for teaching the fundamental and applied concepts of catalyst production. It offers an overview of the knowledge needed for controlled development of heterogeneous catalytic materials and outlines industrial requirements for large-scale synthesis.

The main goals are to provide young scientists with a more informed and rational outlook on their field of research, to improve collaboration among researchers by promoting a shared language and common concepts, and to bolster the conversation between science and industry in this niche area. The summer school featured a total of 13 lectures, each lasting 90 minutes, and showcased nearly 60 posters.

Around 100 attendees actively participated in the conference. Participants ranged from academia (Professors giving lectures, PhD students, post-docs all over Europe) to industry (researchers from Tupras, Basf, Heesung Catalyst from South Korea, Heraeus, JM and etc.).
